AFOMP has started Prof. Kiyonari Inamura oration award from year 2018 in memory of great medical physicist Kiyonari Inamura. He was Professor Emeritus of Osaka University.
Inamura’s pioneering contributions to many fields specifically in medical physics related to Computed Assisted Radiology and Surgery (CARS) have been on research and development in radiotherapy treatment planning systems
and picture archiving and communication systems. He has played a key role in medical physics education at Osaka University not just for students from japan but also from whole world.
His contribution in advancing interdisciplinary and international cooperation is without parallel and, combined with his remarkable selflessness, has been of great benefit not only for Japan but also for the rest of the world.
In memory of this great medical physicist, first Prof. Kiyonari Inamura Memorial Oration Award is awarded to Prof. Tomas Kron at AOCMP 2018 Malaysia meet on 13th November 2018 in a lively ceremony. He has given his oration lecture on title “Pediatric Radiation Oncology: can we translate all the technological advances from adults to kid”.
