Roles of ETC

• To advance medical physics and the practice of physics in medicine across the Asia–Oceania region by disseminating knowledge, strengthening education and training, enhancing professional development, and ultimately supporting the delivery of high-quality medical services for patients.
• To promote, coordinate, and support international and regional education and training programs endorsed by AFOMP, National Member Organizations (NMOs), and Regional Organizations, fostering long-term collaboration and capacity development.
• To identify needs and priorities for international education and training activities, evaluate applications, and recommend to AFOMP appropriate methods of support. The ETC may also assist with program organization and advise on curriculum design and faculty selection.
• To review applications from national and regional organizations seeking AFOMP endorsement for scientific or educational meetings, in accordance with the AFOMP Policy on Scientific, Educational, and Professional Meetings. ETC may seek assistance from SC.
• To facilitate the establishment of regional centers for education and training, in collaboration with international organizations such as IAEA, WHO, and other relevant agencies.
• To collaborate with education and training committees of National Organizations on curriculum development, training materials, and modern training methodologies (including online and blended learning).
• To liaise with the International Medical Physics Certification Board (IMPCB) regarding international certification and professional competency standards.
• To maintain a database of regional academic and training activities, resources, and experts to facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing.
