Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It is a privilege to connect with you once again through AFOMP Pulse. Looking across our vast Asia-Oceania region, I am constantly inspired by how our community adapts, innovates, and supports one another. Despite the differing resources and healthcare landscapes across our member nations, our fundamental purpose remains unchanged: ensuring that every patient receives safe, precise, and compassionate care through medical physics.
Recently, our focus has been centered on bridging gaps whether through specialized workshops, online webinars, or peer-to-peer mentorship. With technologies like artificial intelligence, adaptive radiotherapy, and advanced diagnostic imaging reshaping our daily routines, standing still isn’t an option. Our continuous learning initiatives are designed to help both seasoned professionals and emerging clinical physicists stay ahead of these rapid shifts without losing sight of foundational standards.
What gives me the greatest confidence in our future is the vibrant energy of our young medical physicists. Seeing early-career researchers step up, share fresh ideas, and take on leadership roles brings tremendous vitality to AFOMP. Alongside this, our commitment to fostering diversity and supporting women in science remains at the heart of our organizational growth because a stronger, more inclusive community directly translates to better patient outcomes.
As we look toward major regional gatherings like AOCMP 2026 in Busan, I encourage each of you to contribute your work, build new connections, and remain actively engaged in our shared journey. Thank you for your tireless dedication, your passion for scientific excellence, and your commitment to elevating our profession every single day.
Warmest regards,
Prof. Dr. Hasin Anupama Azhari
President, Asia-Oceania Federation of Organizations for Medical Physics (AFOMP)
