It is a great privilege to address the medical physics community in the Asia–Oceania region through this issue of AFOMP Pulse.
Financial sustainability and transparent stewardship form the bedrock upon which our federation’s vision is built. I am delighted to report that AFOMP maintains a remarkably strong and resilient financial position—a testament to the collective commitment of our entire regional network.
This financial strength stems primarily from the steady support of our dedicated National Member Organizations (NMOs) through their annual subscription fees, alongside the generous contributions of our corporate members. Our industry partners play a crucial role not only in backing our financial ecosystem, but also in driving technological innovation that advances patient care across the region.
Importantly, our robust financial health is a dynamic tool for growth. AFOMP actively reinvests these resources directly into our community to nurture talent and foster professional development. Through dedicated financial grants, educational subsidies, and annual Travel Awards, we continue to empower our members—especially early-career medical physicists, researchers, and colleagues from low- and middle-resource settings. These funds provide critical support for members to participate in our flagship event, the Asia–Oceania Congress of Medical Physics (AOCMP), facilitating vital knowledge exchange, international collaboration, and professional networking.
As we look to the future, the Treasury will remain steadfast in maintaining rigorous financial integrity while seeking new ways to expand our award and support programs to serve the evolving needs of our region.
I extend my deepest appreciation to our NMO leadership, valued corporate partners, and fellow Executive Committee members for their unwavering trust, guidance, and support. Together, we ensure that our shared resources continue to translate into a stronger, more connected medical physics community.
