To promote the exchange and development of proton therapy technology and advance the innovation and progress of new radiotherapy techniques, the Southern Branch of the National Cancer Center, in collaboration with the Shenzhen Medical Association, and hosted by Shenzhen Cancer Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, along with the co-organization of IBA (Beijing) Particle Accelerator Technology Co., Ltd., will hold the “National Cancer Center Southern Branch Proton Therapy Academic Symposium, the International Symposium On Proton Therapy (ISOP) 2026 China Summit, and the 10th Shenzhen Radiation Oncology Forum, as well as the Particle Radiotherapy Advances and Practical Applications Training Course” from September 12-13, 2026, in Shenzhen, Guangdong. The conference will include various sessions such as gynecological oncology, head and neck oncology, thoracic oncology, abdominal oncology, nursing, physics quality control, and a proton therapy researcher meeting. The Shenzhen Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences Cancer Hospital is the first public hospital in southern China to operate a proton therapy system. The holding of this conference will further consolidate the hospital’s leading position in cancer treatment in China.
Title: The 5th Tumor Precision Radiotherapy Special Skills Training Project will be held in Shenzhen
The Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences Cancer Hospital Shenzhen Hospital stood out in the competition among 24 hospitals nationwide and was approved as the second batch of training hospitals for the “Tumor Precision Radiotherapy Special Skills Training Project” by the National Health Commission Talent Exchange Service Center. It is now recruiting students for the “Tumor Precision Radiotherapy Special Skills Training Project” (fifth phase) nationwide.
The Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences Cancer Hospital Shenzhen Hospital is a public top oncology specialized hospital that jointly established by the National Cancer Center (Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences Cancer Hospital in Beijing) and the Shenzhen Municipal Government. As a national cancer regional medical center the hospital fully implements the development concept of “one hospital, two districts” and achieves deep homogenization with the Beijing General Hospital in terms of management team, expert strength, technical standards, and scientific research platform.
The department of radiation oncology has 6 X-ray based LINAC, including one CyberKnife, Tomherapy, Varian VitalBeam, Electa Infinity, etc. The center also installed IBA’s 5 room Proton Therapy system. 4D-CT and 3.5 T MR simulator are also used in routine clinical practice. A spectral CT will soon be installed to support the Proton treatment planning. The Routine clinical treatment technology includes IMRT, VMAT, IGRT, SRS/SBRT, Lattice, etc.
