Agenda-01: Completion of Prof. Kiyonari Inamura oration award

10 May 2020 was the last date of submission for the nomination of Prof. Kiyonari Inamura oration award. Till date, we have received three nominations for the award as follows
- Prof K Y Cheung, Hong Kong: Approved by AFOMP EXCOM
- Prof. Yong Yin, China

Decision:
• Guidelines and unanimously recommended the Prof. Kiyonari Inamura memorial AFOMP oration 2020 to Prof KY Cheung.. AFOMP EXCOM has approved the awardee and on behalf of AFOMP, President has sent a congratulation letter to Prof. K Y Cheung.
Agenda-02: Completion of AFOMP Life time achievement award
Discussion:
AFOMP EXCOM has introduced the AFOMP lifetime achievement award on the occasion of 20 th Anniversary of AFOMP to be conferred during AOCMP 2020, at Phuket, Thailand. The guidelines and forms are prepared by AHC and AFOMP asked all the NMOs for sending us nominations for this award. Our AHC chair and its members had formulated criteria for selection. We have received seven renowned Medical physicists (MP) as a nominee from seven NMO’s of AFOMP as follows.
- Anchali Krisanachinda (Thailand)
- Masahiro Endo (Japan)
- W.H. Round (New Zealand)
- Ian Donald McLean (Australia)
- Deepak Dattatray Deshpande (India)
- Yimin Hu (China)
- Djarwani Soeharso Soejok (Indonesia)
It was really enthusiastic and well appreciated. The nominees are outstanding and contributed a lot to the MP education, profession, development, rules, and regulations in the national and international regions. It’s a huge task to select only one from this extraordinary pool of nominees for this award.
Decision:
• As per evaluation, among the seven nominations, the point difference of the two top nominees is only 0.25, which is very much within the uncertainty/ subjectivity of evaluation. One of them is Anchali Krisanachinda from Thailand who has got the highest score and another is Ian Donald McLean from Australia who has received the second-highest scorer close to first. This year AFOMP is celebrating its 20th anniversary, considering this we can recommend two awards to be fair in 2020. AFOMP EXCOM approved the recommendations of AHC on 9th June 2020.
