I was extremely delighted at the prospect of attending and presenting my research work at the 24th Asia-Oceania Congress of Medical Physics(AOCMP) 22nd Southeast Asia Congress of Medical Physics (SEACOMP) held at The Wembley – A St Giles Hotel, Penang, Malaysia from 10th to 13th October 2024.
The conference was packed with a robust scientific program comprising orations and invited talks by eminent physicists worldwide. It was indeed a privilege to be able to attend the various scientific sessions, both oral and poster presentations and panel discussions that were professionally organized and categorized, spanning across multiple branches in medical physics, including diagnostic and interventional radiology, nuclear medicine, radiotherapy, radiation protection, radiobiology and artificial intelligence in health care.
It was a platform to meet several renowned leaders in the field of medical physics and to learn from them. I also had the opportunity to network professionally with physicists from across the globe, which opened the door to international collaborations for research and learning. Meeting the vendors and specialists from various companies in the stalls was also interesting, as was discussing and exchanging ideas with them.
The congress proceedings kept up to the theme “Revolutionising Patient Care Through Medical Physics,” in every aspect reinforcing the advancement of the field of Medical Physics through innovative scientific research and collaboration.
I also thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of Penang city and its rich cultural heritage. The incorporation of Social and cultural activities during the inauguration ceremony complemented the scientific agenda, allowing attendees to experience Penang’s generosity in embracing a multicultural heritage. The Gala dinner was indeed a Grand Gala event!
I sincerely and wholeheartedly thank the organizers and the entire team for all their effort in putting up this well-organized event and for generously endowing me with the AFOMP travel award that was extremely useful in meeting my travel expenses to and from India. This opportunity was an incredible honor, and it would not have been possible without your generous support. The sessions and discussions immensely benefited my academic growth and future research and career aspirations. Additionally, the opportunity to present my research and receive feedback from distinguished colleagues was invaluable, as it will significantly enhance my work moving forward.
Thank you once again for the support and trust you have shown me with this travel award. I am truly grateful and look forward to contributing to our field and giving back to the academic community as my career progresses.
Sincerely,
